The trustee of the society Dr. Purushottamji Thote had founded the Ganpatrao Thote Seva Sanstha in 1991. Through this trust he founded a small unit of Yashwantrao Thote Mountessary Teachers Training Institute (YTMTTI), prier institute to meet the pressing need for scientific training in Social Work. At that time in the pick years of his life simultaneously he was devoting his professional knowledge and started Purushottam Thote College of Social Work in 1993.
